1. OBJECT

The purpose of the agreement is to carry out actions aimed at reducing energy demand and energy consumption in the activities carried out by local authorities in the province as a result of the provision of local services, as well as the modernisation and extension of the useful life of municipal equipment and installations and the promotion of the implementation and use of renewable energies.

All this is in line with the objectives set by the European initiative ‘Covenant of Mayors’, of which Diputación de Granada is a partner, participating as a support structure for the municipalities of the province.

2. TARGET

All the programmes of the Provincial Energy Agency are, in general, aimed at municipalities and autonomous local entities with no population limit.

Likewise, although the 138 concertation programme is aimed at promoting specific actions in the field of sustainable energy among the municipalities of the province of Granada, the Provincial Energy Agency is at the disposal of all local authorities in Granada to provide them with technical assistance in any project that each municipality wishes to promote in this field, such as Energy Service Companies, Energy Contracting, Reimbursable Funds, etc.

For this purpose, the municipality concerned should contact the Provincial Energy Agency at the time the need arises to request such technical assistance.
